Jonah's redemption
From death to life
Violent waters engulfed me,
To the point that my soul was dead,
Deep abyss, the sea consumed me,
Weeds of the sea, they bound my head.
In the deepest crevices, I sank,
I woke there for all eternity,
In the earth’s prison, sealed and dank.
But you drew me from obscurity,
YHWH – My God, my life you raised.
(An undoubtedly bad paraphrastic poem of Jonah 2:5-6)
